WSYL North Qualifier Recap: 2025 Select

Team 91 Tristate 2025 Select place 7th at WSYL Regionals

Director's Note:

Congratulations to the 2025 Select team on a hard fought weekend at the World Series of Youth Lacrosse event in Frederica, DE. After a hard earned 2-1 performance on Day 1, our squad moved into the top 8 bracket Sunday and finished 7th overall on the weekend.

Round 1 Results:

Game 1: 7-5 win vs Orange Crush

Game 2: 6-2 win vs Predators Lacrosse

Game 3: 11-2 loss vs Team 91 Long Island (*first place finisher)

On day two, our 2025 Select team opened up with Igloo Northface. The game quickly became the fiercest of the weekend. The first half was a back-and-forth defensive battle with both teams being held scoreless for the first ten minutes. Tristate would break the ice with the first goal of the game and hold a 1-0 lead going into halftime. The second half picked-up where it left off with both teams playing aggressive/smart lacrosse. After trading back-and-forth goals and sitting a 2-2 tie with only a few minutes left, Igloo scored on a man-up possession to take the lead and win the game. Igloo Northface went on to finish second at the qualifier.

I couldn’t be more proud of this team! We played hard all weekend and competed at the highest level. This is the first team from Tristate to represent at the WSYL event and to say we made a splash is an understatement. I am excited to build off this momentum with our future teams!
