Coach Across America (Harlem Lacrosse & Leadership) - Summer 2013
As a high schooler, I played lacrosse for the Pearl River Pirates. I began my lacrosse career as an 8th grader, where I played defense. As I developed my stick skills, I grew to love the attacking aspect of the game. I joined my high school varsity team in 10th grade as an attacker. After high school I continued with my lacrosse career at St. Thomas Aquinas College. While in college I was selected and invited by American International Sports Teams (AIST) to represent the US abroad. I had the opportunity to play in England, Scotland, and Ireland during the summer before my senior year.
How old were you when you started playing lacrosse and what made you pick up a stick?
I was 13 years old when I first picked up a lacrosse stick. My best friend introduced the game of lacrosse to me.
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
One of my favorite lacrosse memories was my junior year of high school when my team had the opportunity to travel to Disney World during spring break. It was a trip I will never forget. Our team bonded so much through all the travel, in-side jokes, meals, rides, practices, and games. It was a trip of a life time. It wasn't just about lacrosse - it was about learning what it means to be a team and having each other's back. The trip was instrumental in the success of our season. It also prepared us (Juniors) for our Senior year and showed us what type of team atmosphere we wanted to help create the following year.
What was your first stick?
My first lacrosse stick was a DeBeer Envy. It took a lot of wall ball to break-in!
